Hand-carved from a single piece of monkey-pod wood, also known as suar wood, this wonderful twist stool / table has a thick chunky design compared with our other twists. Finished in a clear wax to enhance the natural contrasting grain in the wood, this is solid and sturdy with a variety of uses.
The Monkey Pod collection features many interesting and unusual items, all handmade from the Chiang Mai region of Northern Thailand. Each piece is made from plantation monkey pod wood, a part of the Acacia tree family.
Each piece has been sourced through fair trade means - our supplier of Thai pieces ensures that the local craftsman that make these items are paid a fair wage and a good relationship has developed as a result.
