Handmade in Thailand from solid monkey pod wood, also known as suar wood, this wooden hand chair is very solid and sturdy with a chunky base. The long upright fingers provide back support, all finished in a light wax polish enhancing the beautiful grain. Stunning!

The Monkey Pod collection features many interesting and unusual items, all handmade from the Chiang Mai region of Northern Thailand. Each piece is made from plantation monkey pod wood, a part of the Acacia tree family.

Each piece has been sourced through fair trade means - our supplier of Thai pieces ensures that the local craftsman that make these items are paid a fair wage and a good relationship has developed as a result.
